  1. He Kisses Her Goodnight -:-- / -:--

Produced by Nathan Nasby

She sits in her rocker and looks at his face
A picture that sits ‘cross the room by a vase
The kitchen is empty, but she can recall
when children were running and he stood there tall

For fifty-five years they were husband and wife
They ate at this table; they yelled and they laughed
And she would give anything to hear once again
the sound of his footsteps and him walkin’ in

Chorus
And mem’ries fall like tired leaves
dancing ‘round an old tree
And as they fall, she can’t catch them all
One by one, they keep falling

She looks through her tears at the clock on the wall
and thinks how the time moved so fast through it all
and if she could go back and change anything
she’d tell him every feeling, she’d share everything

Chorus

Bridge
She picks up her cup and she walks to the sink
She wonders if she will be able to sleep
She sets the alarm, and she turns out the light
And she doesn’t know that
he kisses her goodnight

Chorus

Ending
And she doesn’t know that
he kisses her goodnight
